Marissa's Background

Marissa began her career in the health industry after graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2016. Since then, she has channeled her passion for health and wellness into working as a personal trainer and weightlifting coach, where she guided clients of all backgrounds toward their fitness goals through practical, evidence-based coaching.

In recent years, Marissa has transitioned away from one-on-one coaching and moved behind the page as a writer and editor. Her hands-on expertise has led Marissa to be featured in multiple publications as a subject matter expert, in addition to having written and edited hundreds of scientific articles on nutrition and exercise.

Today, Marissa remains deeply committed to the principles that first drew her toward being a health and wellness professional. Whether she's writing an in-depth feature or putting the latest fitness trends under the microscope, Marissa's goal is the same—empower people to change their lives by using her expertise.
